eXtreme365: Nine years and growing!We’re driven by the communities we serve
An independent organization, eXtreme, LLC began in 2009 by former Microsoft leaders Christy Spokely and John Verdon. John and Christy had many years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics and the channel. Upon leaving Microsoft, they immediately saw the need for a community event for the CRM channel that was entrepreneurial but young and working with what was then an immature product. The goal was simple: to host an event to provide education and networking opportunities for the Microsoft Dynamics CRM community. The mission of the organization was to deliver an impactful conference FOR partners that was designed BY partners that could help them grow their practices.
They quickly formed an advisory board from within the partner community. This group of community leaders provided and continues to provide valuable strategic direction regarding every aspect of the event as well as providing critical community reach. The first event drew more than 300 attendees to Las Vegas in October 2010 for three days. It was an exciting venture, with positive participant feedback and a million ideas to consider for future events. One fact was clear: there was great need within the Microsoft community for events to serve Microsoft Partners and the contributing ecosystem.
The success quickly piqued the interest of the Microsoft EMEA team and within 4 months the first eXtremeCRM EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) event was held in Prague in 2011 with even greater numbers.
From the start, it became clear the value of eXtreme conference was a little different than any other conference available. With tremendous support from Microsoft, the depth of learning was intense and always forward thinking. The expertise of speakers and sessions leaders made it an essential stop for Microsoft Partners. Significant keynotes always drove community understanding of the Microsoft vision and roadmap going forward.
With annual events in EMEA and the US each year we are proud to say we have organized 14 events for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Partner ecosystem since inception and have held our first ever customer event in Lisbon in 2017. In 2016 to align with Microsoft’s strategy, we rebranded and expanded the conference to address the entire Intelligent Business Cloud. We are excited about our upcoming events in the US, EMEA and now APAC which now serves all partners serious about building practices based on the Intelligent Business Cloud.
Other highlights of growth through the years:
The addition of an Executive Exchange at eXtreme conferences. Introduced at the 2012 Berlin conference, it now regularly sells out both in the US and EMEA. The executive exchange is an intense peer-to-peer leadership session for a limited group of participants. The agenda is designed to optimize a partner’s operation, identify opportunity,enhance understanding of the Intelligent Business Cloud and Dynamics platforms and provide intimate interaction with Microsoft leaders. Microsoft and other industry experts lead this full-day session. For many participants, it’s a unique opportunity to build a strategic network of talented business leaders and Microsoft executives.
The introduction of the App Innovation Challenge. This event for technical experts teams individuals from across the Microsoft, ISV, partner and tech communities to spend 8 hours building proof of concept for an app on site. Their ideas are presented and voted on at the conference celebration and awards night.
The conference was rebranded eXtreme365 (instead of eXtremeCRM) upon Microsoft’s announcement of Dynamics 365 at Inspire, July 2016. The name change reflects the deep-rooted commitment to the Microsoft Dynamics and Intelligent Business Cloud communities – and the addition of new streams of content at eXtreme conferences.
The first-ever Customer event held in Lisbon, Portugal 2017. With the explosion of community need the Customer event puts customers in touch with Microsoft leadership and others in the ecosystem and provides Partners the opportunity to work directly with their customers in a conference setting to identify customer vision, needs and solutions.
CEO Christy Spokely became sole owner of eXtreme365 in 2015 and set a course for continued dedication to deep-rooted service to the Dynamics community ecosystem resulting in strong growth. This growth was fueled by strong content, a strong roster of Microsoft and industry leaders among the attendees and a unique set of programs at eXtreme365 events to provide a highly rated attendee-driven experience.With the induction of Satya Nadella as Microsoft President in 2014 and his vision for the Intelligent Business Cloud, it became apparent the opportunity to serve this Microsoft community grew too. Since then, eXtreme’s momentum as a must-attend event has skyrocketed.Attendance continues to soar and eXteme365 Lisbon doubled the attendance of the eXtreme 2015 Warsaw event.eXtreme365 Long Beach will be the most engaging eXtreme event yet with Microsoft’s recent announcements of key strategies for Dynamics 365, the Intelligent Business Cloud and a new relationship with Partners – One Commercial Partner.The EMEA event will be announced soon and will be more exciting than Lisbon. And for the first time, eXtreme365 is looking to address the APAC region. Stay tuned for more details!Each event is a building block for the next one.
